Desert Loom by Wanderlusty Woman: Woven Stories, Crafted for Soul
Each Desert Loom coat begins its journey in the heart of a desert village where generations of women sit together weaving, one knot at a time, what they believe will one day become a part of their daughters’ dowries, or adorn the family home with pride.
When we discovered these handwoven treasures in the Medinas of Marrakech and the Saharan edges of Morocco, we knew these textiles held stories too powerful to stay hidden. With deep respect, we collaborated with local artisans and expert tailors to transform each piece into wearable art, living memory maps passed down, cherished, and redesigned with purpose. No two coats are alike, each tells a different tale, and you become part of that story the moment you wear it. Be ready to share it!
One-of-a-kind styles with a story stitched into every seam.
Each coat is a true one-of-a-kind piece upcycled from vintage Moroccan textiles: Berber kilims, mud cloths, indigo cloth, denim, wool rugs, and ceremonial weaves.
Our design team sources materials from across Morocco and reimagines each piece using heritage-informed tailoring that honors the spirit of the textile and the person who made it.
There is no mass production. No duplicates. Every piece is its own work of art.
Handmade.
Heirloom.
This is not fast fashion. This is forever fashion. The process to create these pieces spans decades, from the first splash of indigo dye or the original knot tied to the final stitch by a master tailor. These are pieces that come with the texture of time, the soul of survival, and the elegance of endurance.
